Name: Razgriz Ghosts
Motto: "The Spirit Lives On"
Members: Currently two, but the Kestrel can reasonably carry eight skyrides, twelve at a stretch and has single cabins for fourteen squadron members and guests.
Age: Less than a year old, the Razgriz Ghosts are heir to the tradition of the now-destroyed Razgriz Demons, a squadron with history dating back to the Terra's Founding
Insignia: A gray tattered ghost with purple eyes spitted by dark blue crosshairs.
Weapons: Personal armament is up to the discretion of the member, but most carry one of Netz's tri-crystal revolvers. Skyrides are equipped as a matter of course with an integral cannon, and either hardpoints, tubes, or bays for mounting missiles or bombs, along with a 'Heimdall' crystallic targeting and tracking system. The Kestrel is equipped with missile banks for both anti-shipping and anti-ride duties, a spinal mounted crystal driver cannon, and three tri-barrel point defense turrets.
Normally Carries: Provisions for long cruises, including crystals, ammunition, fuel, spare parts, medical supplies, and a number of sundries needed to cobble solutions together out of. Skyrides, along with enough spares to construct two more of each type. Occasionally trade goods or relief supplies fill the small cargo bay.
Vehicle: The Kestrel, built on the gutted wreck of the Raven, the Razgriz Demons' airship. It is a single hull design with flight decks extending from each side near the back. Each flight deck mounts an anti-ride missile battery and a point defense turret. The third point defense turret and anti-ride missile battery is located on the underside of the main hull. Anti-shipping missiles are contained in broadside tubes, along with a trio of spinal tubes fore and aft. The main gun is a crystal driver cannon with it's muzzle under the nose, with a barrel length of almost two-thirds the ship's length. Three naval-grade thrusters give the ship respectable speed, and an 'Odin' crystallic targeting and tracking system gives the Kestrel nearly unmatched tactical awareness. The design is somewhat underarmored, however, relying on shields, and takes damage to flight systems more quickly than more conventional designs, due to it's more cramped design.
Current skyride complement is made up of Razgriz-designed variants of the Air Skimmer III EL and the Slip-Wing Fighter Ultra.
Positions:
CO/Sky Knight (Prospective): Keskel Vikasal
XO/Weapons Engineer: Netz Sufa
Other positions open
Social Standing: The Ghosts are almost completely unknown outside of Terra Razgriz, their predecessors were well-regarded if not far-ranging.
Finance: The Ghosts are rich for their small size and young age, being subsidized by the Terra in general, and the lucrative crystal mining interests in particular.
Lifestyle: Currently trying to assemble a more substantial force before heading to Terra Atmosia and registering. Upon registering, they plan to begin raiding operations on Cyclonian interests, as well as liberation ops where possible.
Location: The Kestrel, making it's way to more populated areas.
Goals: To become an official squadron and defend Atmos and Terra Razgriz. Revenge against Cyclonia is a not-so-subtle unofficial goal.
Priorities: Each other and those that can't defend theirselves.
Habits: Hit-and-fade actions, raiding, surgical strikes.
Hobbies: Depends on the member.
Flaws: The squadron is currently rather small, and has no designated ship crew as of yet. Also, while Keskel is a skilled Sky-Fu practitioner, the squadron's doctrine holds up best in long-range engagements.
Loyalty: The squadron, Terra Razgriz, Atmosian Alliance
Talents: Stand-off combat, raiding, and surgical strikes. Very skilled at maneuvering as one dispersed element, rather than a pair of separate rides. Tactical planning and improvising a specialty.
Secrets: None, really. The squadron hasn't been together long enough, unless the corporate sponsorship counts.
Brief History: Brief is the only kind of history the Ghosts have. After the destruction of the Razgriz Demons in the early stages of the war, Terra Razgriz suffered a period of Cyclonian occupation. Upon the arrival of Starling of the Mesan Interceptors, a resistance was formed, and Terra Razgriz was liberated.
With no living members or even blood relatives of the Demons, Keskel Vikasal took matters into his own hands, declaring his intention to become Terra Razgriz's new Sky Knight, and founding a new squadron then and there with his best friend. Securing funding from the crystal mining industry, they rebuilt the Raven into the Kestrel and set off into the world for members, adventure, and no small amount of revenge.
