Miss Sanders was sitting in one of the greasy bar stools, slurping some unidentified liquid, and staring at her glass as if her life depended on it. Hmm... The glass was spotted, already cracked in some spots, and sporting some suspicious brown stains. She sighed happily. Good to think some things never change. If there was one thing she could depend on, it was that the glasses would be in a terrible state, and that, as always, Mort would have the best gossip. And true to the universe's illogic logic, Morn came out of the kitchens, trying his best to pretend to wipe a glass. "Morn, dear!" Morn was a tall, imposing man, slightly overweight- perhaps he had been foolish enough to eat the food he cooked-. His pale blue eyes opened wider when he heard the sound of her voice and he suppressed a shudder. "Wow, If it isn't Miss Sanders. What brings you to the Wayside?" "Business, my boy.", she replied in a serious tone. Morn cringed. He really wished she would stop calling him "my boy". "To be honest with you dearie, I need some new employees. I was hoping you could point me to some strong guys." "What... happened... to the old ones?" "Tim and Craig? Oh, them." She said nothing and slurped more of the mystery liquid. Morn thought he had never seen anything quite as ominous in his whole life. "So, can you think up of any of your delightful customers looking to be hired on?" "As... Juice sellers?" She gave a little cough as she chocked on her drink. "Don't be silly dear."

A loud howl of a motor came from outside, then the noise of something thuding onto the ground. A few seconds later the door opened and a Blizzarian came in. He wore a light green parka and grey pants. As he stepped in, he closed the door and took off his parka. A white shirt appeared under his parka. "Eh dere!" he said in a warm tone. He went to one of the bar stools, laied his parka on it and then sat on it. "Would'ya mind bring me a lager? I'd a hard day, eh?"

Morn gave a small smile to Miss Sanders and turned himself to his new customer. "How you been doin', you old Blizzarian! Morn's special, coming right up." The barman turned to the shelf on which were disposed the drinks, choosing carefully something that was only midly toxic. After all, the Blizzarian was one of his best customer. Miss Sanders slurped on her drink once more and gave a side glance to the newcomer. He looked robust enough, young and healthy. Her brain started to tick. As Morn served him something electric blue, Miss Sanders put on what she knew to be a sweet old-lady-expression. The one that got foolish children to try and catch felines in trees. "It's very nice to meet you, young man. I'm Miss Sanders, and you might just be what I'm looking for."

"Danks, dude." He said as Morn served him his drink. He raised an eyebrow as he heard what the old lady said. "Uh, yeah. Nice to meet ya, too, eh? I am Jack, Jack Trax. And whut ya said about me?" He holds his right hand too Miss Sanders, awaiting a handshake.

She shook his hand warmly. "Pleased to meet you Jack. Listen, would you be interested in a good job? Fair wages, chances to travel, bed and three meals provided, all you can drink Pineapple Juice...." Jack couldn't exactly place it as to why, but the old lady's voice clearly made it sound as if pineapple juice should be written with capitals. As he was turned towards Miss Sanders, he didn't catch the look of horror on Morn's face.

Jacks ears pointing rearwards. Her words running through his mind. >Fair wages... travel.. and meals.... but pineapple juice? Never tested dat, eh.< "Sounds fair, eh. Where can I sign?" He didn't even thought about what his duties could be, or where he would go. He was only too excited by the offer Miss Sanders made to him.

"My boy, no need to sign anything. Just have yourself ready by tomorrow morning, 8 o'clock, right by the South Docks. It's the one with the awnings, you can't miss it. I'll tell you exactly what your task will consist of then." She shook his hand one more time. "So glad to do business with such a voluntary gentleman. See you tomorrow then, Jack." With that, she put her glass down and left the bar silently, leaving a puzzled Jack.
"Ugh, Jack, you idiot, you just got yourself into a lot of trouble", predicted Morn, wiping her glass with a sorrowful look on his face. As always, she had conveniantly forgotten to pay.

His ears twitched as he raised an eyebrow, glancing over to Morn. "What yer talkin bout? She's 'n old ladeh, in what trouble could she bring me, eh?" Still the words of Miss Sanders ran through his head. And what did Morn mean? He was a little bit confused now.

"Aw, sure, she seems like apple pies and sweetness, but trust me when I say there's more evil in that old lady than in Master Cyclonis herself. Tell you what, all the people who hang around her don't stick around in this world so long..."
One of Jack's ears stood up. "Really? Where do they go?"
"They die son, all of them! She's a walking jinx!"
"But you're still here, aren't you?"
Morn's open mouth closed with an audible snap.
"Well, if you don't want my advice, I'll take it somewhere else. Finish that drink fast, I need the glass."
With that, Morn huffed and walked away, his arms crossed and his eyebrow knitted together.

Jacks mind was full of different thoughts. He grabbed the glass and emptied it with one draft. "Whoa! That stuff is wicked, eh!" He threw a few coins on the counter. "Dat fits so, i pay for de old ladeh too. Thanks for de advice Morn, but I have ta get sum sleep, preparin fir tommarow, eh? See ya dude!" He shouted as he put his parka on, leaving the bar, still followed by the thoughts. He was not sure. While flying his grinder back to home, he decided, to do the job, no matter what Morn said, but he still had the bad feeling...
The next day
It was 8'o clock. He stood infront of the docks. He couldn't sleep the night very well, the words of Morn still in his head. "So, where it is..." He was looking for the described awnings. He found the described place, heading towards it.

(OOC: lol, thanks for paying for me ) Miss Sanders put her left hand over her eyes as to block the shining morning sun. She looked at her watch nervously, wondering whether Jack had gone back on his decision. She then caught sight of a tall figure walking towards her and let out a breath of relief. She worried too much... "Jack, dear, I'm so glad to see you! Step inside, I'll brew you some Pineapple Juice and we'll see to the details of the contract." The Blizzarian followed her inside, starting to feel a little nervous. Most of the ship was taken up by little chairs and tables, as well as a huge counter. There were small frilly curtains at the windows and those useless little things called doilies on each table. The whole ensemble was very bright and neat. And somewhat... strange. Miss Sanders brought Jack to the nearest table and went through the back doors to what must be the kitchens. She came back with a huge pitcher filled to the brim with a yellow-ish liquid. "Well, sweetie, I hardly know where to start. What do you want to know?"

As Jack entered the ship he looked around. He sat on a chair that stands near the table where the old lady brought him. As Miss Sanders gave him the pitcher his ears where pointing backwards. He also sniffeled, trying to get a clue what that is. "Danks, miss. How about yer tellin me all I need ta know, eh? How should I know what I want when I don't know what ya know?"

She gave a little laugh.
"You're a smart boy. I think we're going to get along."
She helped him to some pineapple juice, which he slurped politely. She gave him a stern glare. He quickly quaffed his glass, and she smiled.
"You like Pineapple Juice. Good. As I always said, never trust anyone who can't drink Pineapple Juice."
She sat down next to him, in one of those little neat white chairs.
"Let me be honest with ya, sweety, this is probably one of the hardest, most unforgiving job you'll ever have to do in your entire life."
He gulped down some saliva. This was getting interesting.
"As you probably guessed... I sell quality Pineapple Juice. For that purpose, I have been asked to cater the yearly Sky Knight graduation buffet this year. It will take place in this very Terra, and it is truly the event of the year. All those promising young Sky Knights... The Cyclonians would love to get their grubby little hands on any dirt they can dig up about their future enemies. You following so far?"
He nodded.
"As caterer, I have to make sure that *nothing* goes wrong. And for that, I'm hiring you. I want you to help me make sure everything goes smoothly. Any other questions?"

His ears pointing rearwards. "So I'm sum kinda doorman, keepin any cyclonian garbage away, eh? Sounds goode..." His voice was now a little sad: "Morn told me somethin... he said that you already had other fellows... what happend ta dem dat ya need me?"

She gulped down some saliva.
"Well, as I mentionned before, the Cyclonians have taken a lot of interest in this event. So much interest that they... They're trying to sabotage the party, starting my making all my employees vanish. Frankly, you're my last hope. All my previous boys are gone, and no one wants to be hired when they know there's so much danger involved. But I'm certain things won't be the same for you sweetie. I took a lot of precautions."
"Don't wprry your silly little head over it then", she said with a wide smile.
"Now, let me show you around the ship..."
After a complete but short visit, Miss Sanders gently pushed him towards the exit, sayign she had to prepare for the upcoming party.
"I'd like you to hang around in the streets, see what you can gather..."
"But first..!"
She searched in one of her apron pockets and got out something pink and furry.
"A protective bracelet! There's about twenty shield crystals in there, it cost me a little fortune. Wear it and be safe. Run along now!"
The Blizzarrian was politely thrown outside, feeling nervous at the fact that the only thing standing between him and a Cyclonian sniper was a fuzzy pink bracelet.

He was more confused than before by the preparations Miss Sanders had to do now, being kicked out and finaly.... that fuzzy pink bracelet. He was staring at the door, then to the bracelet, his ears standing up, raising an eyebrow. >What de hell was dat? And whut is dit bracelet fir?< He thought, walking along the pier straight to a street. At this time there wasnt much life on the streets but he could feel somethimg, but he throwed this thought away. He had that bad feeling in his stomach... something was wrong.

Three TS-1s and a bright pink one set down on the terra. The first one to climb off was a lanky, pale and short man in a Talon uniform named Balor. The next to climb off were two of his friends the large bulbous Edward and the average looking blonde, Cale. The last to join the group and the one driving the bright pink TS-1 was the skinny, red headded, freckled faced ass kisser Lucky.
After a few moments of just standing there Edward spoke up. "What are we doing here again?"
"We get the day off because Commander Jeffery is having a woman over" Replied Balor.
"I understand him not wanting us to embarras him in front of his lady love and all but why is the kisser of asses with us" Replied Cale gesturing to Lucky.
"Because we got piss drunk and caused a huge disturbance the last time we had free time. So the boss man sent the ass kisser with us to make sure we don't pull a stunt like that again" Replied Balor. Setting fire to Snipes house seemed like a good idea at the time and if he was sober, he would have done it anyways just for the hell of it.
"That was so cool how you lit Snipes house and lawn on fire." Replied the ever smiling Lucky in which the other Talons just looked at him with unimpressed faces.
"I think it was the simple fact that it was Snipes house and not anybody elses that we got off so easily" Cale noted.
"Lets go get something to drink I'm thirsty" Said Ed as he made his way to sime kind of Pineapple Bar.

Miss Sanders was working on her famous Pineapple cookies for the reception, worrying about her new employee, when the little bell suspended above her door tinkled, telling her some customers just came in.
She wiped her dough-stained hands on her apron and went to the counter, smiling at the four young men who had just stepped in.
"Why hello boys, what can I do for you today? Some Pineapple Juice perhaps?"
She kept her warm smile on her face but noticed the cyclonian uniforms. Looked like trouble.

Jack had differents thoughts, actually he thinks of Miss Sanders. He just looked back to the shop and... >Whut? Cyclonian skimmers? Der's troubl!< He ran baback to the shop, threw the door open. He saw four cyclonian tallons standing in front of the counter. Jack ran over to Miss Sanders near the counter, asking in a serious voice: "Are dese guys makin trouble, chief?"

"Yeah we'll have some of that Pineapple juice." Ed stated.
Then some furry creature came barging in the door pointing a finger at them and stuttering some accusation. Or something like that. They weren't really paying attention.
The whole group looked at the blizzarian except for Ed. Balor looked like he was about to do something but Cale stopped him.
"Let me deal with this before you do something stupid." With that he turned to the blizzarian and said "Do not mind us, we're just here to get something to drink. Me and my friends are just here to enjoy a welcome break for all our hard work."
Then Lucky opened his mouth. "But Balor said we were here because Commander Jeffery didn't want his date with Ravess to be ruined by assholes"
The two Talons smacked their faces with their hands. "Thanks Lucky, really appreciate it"

Miss Sanders mentally sighed in relief. If they were on a break, chances were they weren't some form of assassins. Plus they had ordered Pineapple Juice. No assassins in their right minds would ever order Pineapple Juice... And... she had to admit it, the smallest of them reminded her of one of her grandsons. People tended to facepalm in his presence too.
"Thank you so much Jack, but there's nothing to worry about..."
She gave one of those radiating smiles.
"Those nice young men were buying Pineapple Juice. Coming right up, boys!"
She went down to the kitchens and came back a few seconds later, sporting a huge pitcher.
"Help yourself, the sun is sure beating down this afternoon. You must all be so thirsty..."
As they settled down and started sipping their drinks, she tried, as usual, to keep up the conversation.
"Sooo... Any of you heard about that huge explosion in the South? Really makes you think, doesn't it..."
She "Tsk-Tsk"ed.
"They shouldn't let kids play with crystals, who knows what horrors come out of it? Now when I was a little girl, I played with rocks. Much more sensible... And a lot less explosive. Well, actually, not that less when you think of it. Take my uncle Barney for example. That guy just had a passion for rocks. He would eat rocks all day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner and...."
She continued telling anecdote after anecdote, and helped them to some more Pineapple Juice.

His ears rested now again on his shoulders. "K, chief. I'll go outside now. If ya need help, call me, I hear pritty good, eh?" He smiled back to Miss Sanders. As he went out, the little door bell rang again. He doesn't trust these Talons, something is wrong. >One of de Talons mention'd Ravess, i wonder whut she's doin here... havin' a date can't be all, eh?< He thought, walking along the pier, watching for something suspicious.

Balor finished his drink and spoke up "Yeah that was one big explosion, voporized most of the invading Sky Knights."
"Cyclonia, blown up twice in one year. That's just depressing." Commented Edward.
"Don't worry guys, our commander has a plan to rebuild Cyclonia and get rid of some unlawful creeps at the same time" Piped the overly cheerful Lucky.

Miss Sanders smiled and stocked the information in her brain. You learned so much interesting things when you served Pineapple Juice. Especially when you spiked it with great quantities of alchohol.
She gave one of her sweet sugary smiles, but this time, it wasn't aimed at them. The fools. Nobody ever suspected an old lady in a juice stop. What better way to keep the Cyclonians off her reception than to use hostages?
She saw their glasses were empty and stepped back into the kitchens. She poured juice in the pitcher, and hesitated. Alcohol was fine and all... But not nearly quick enough. She let her hand slide towards the medicine cabinet and took a little bottle of sleeping medicine.
She poured half of it in the pitcher and mixed with great energy.
Five minutes later, the Cyclonians were snoring peacefully, as Miss Sanders rubbed her hands, a very satisfied look on her face.
"Hey Jack, can you come here and give me a hand?"
